How to Brew
Key rule: Never use boiling water — use water at 70–80°C to preserve flavour and nutrients.
- Traditional (gourd + bombilla): Fill gourd 2/3 with mate, insert bombilla, pour hot water. Refill up to 15 times.
- Loose leaf (infuser): 2–3 tsp in an infuser, steep 3–5 min at 70–80°C. Refill 2–3 times.
- Cold brew (Tereré): Add mate to a glass, pour cold water or apple juice. Drink immediately. Perfect for warm days.
